The Emergency Network Facility allows the member’s mobile phone to become a 24 hour a day mobile “panic” button, anywhere within the borders of South Africa. The service does work worldwide – subject to T&Cs. This service is dependent on cellular phone reception, sufficient airtime and data, battery life, the GPS being enabled and third-party affiliations.
The push of the panic button immediately activates the mobile phone tracking facility and sends a text message alert to each of the member’s (up to eight) Guardians, notifying them that the member is in trouble. The text message will contain a link to a landing page, of which will have the following details on it:
The application goes dark upon activation of the panic button and will remain in a “black out” mode whilst active. The alert will deactivate when the member inputs their password, or alternatively if the phone is switched off or goes dead.
Your emergency network is beneficial because your Guardians can immediately respond once they have received the text alert. There is no time delay in calling one person, who for any number of reasons may not be able to answer. There is also no time delay in trying to explain your situation or whereabouts. In addition, being unable to talk or not make noise for any reason does not prevent you from using your Emergency Network Facility. Additionally, the audio and video features allow you to capture your surroundings without having to make a noise, unless of course you do have the opportunity to say one or two words to explain your situation. These features therefore work for both types of situations.
Your Guardians are people with close relationships with you. Howler Monkey gives them the opportunity to share their information amongst each other, as well as the real time information and onward tracking of your phone. This is the critical difference with Howler Monkey – sharing real time, you-specific information with people who will make you the ONLY priority. Lastly, and most importantly - Your Howler Monkey is as close to you as you keep your mobile phone! .(Smart phone and network dependent. Airtime and data dependent.) Works anywhere in the world.
ER24 Emergency Contact Center is a free additional benefit of the Howler Monkey service, which means the service is voluntary and the member must tick the applicable box when completing the registration section of the application, in order for this service to be activated. This benefit will be activated within 72 hours of receipt of confirmation of the immediate subscription payment made upon registration.

The HFC C5 HIV Prevention Plan is a free additional benefit of the Howler Monkey service, which means the service is voluntary and the member must tick the applicable box when completing the registration section of the application, in order for this service to be activated. This benefit will be activated within 72 hours of receipt of confirmation of the immediate subscription payment made upon registration.
The C5 HIV Prevention Plan provides immediate assistance and preventative treatment to any individual exposed to HIV through rape, assault, needle stick injuries, motor vehicle accidents and other accidental exposures.
